place name- former fishing site on a narrow rock ledge just above water level, below a steep cliff which forms the north entrance to the bay on the west side of the Columbia, B’s etym: cut-line-deliberately place, story of a man who wanted his younger brother’s wife so he cut the lines being used by his brother to access the fishing site; the younger brother drowned, and as is custom, the older brother married the spouse of his deceased sibling
